The 2023 Great Boulder Duck Race is set for August 27,

11-1 p.m. at Scott Carpenter Pool!

We will be paddling again this summer on August 27, 2023, from 11-1 p.m. at Scott Carpenter Pool’s Lazy River. Stay tuned for more details as we approach the race date!

Though race day festivities won’t begin until the end of the summer, you can start your team and work on those duck adoptions now! Donations received for the 2023 Great Boulder Duck Race will help fund PLAY Boulder’s programming for low-income families and people with disabilities. Scroll down for information on how to adopt a duck or start a team today!

The Great Boulder Duck Race was founded in 1988 and has since become a beloved Boulder tradition. We invite the whole community to adopt a duck, partner with us, or provide an in-kind donation to serve as a prize for our drawing at the event.

How to Participate

Adopt a Duck or Create a Team!

Each duck you adopt acts as a donation to PLAY Boulder. You can adopt a duck individually or through a team, or you can create your own adoption team. Teams set a goal for the number of duck adoptions they strive to achieve by August 27 and compete for additional team prizes awarded at the event!

BENEFITS:

Each duck enters you into a drawing for fantastic prizes from local businesses. The more ducks you adopt, the more chances you have to win!
