Our Mission

PLAY Boulder Foundation creates excellence in parks and recreation in Boulder, Colorado by mobilizing community support through education, philanthropy and advocacy.

Founded in 1976, we are the nonprofit partner of Boulder’s Parks & Recreation Department striving to:

  • Engage those committed to ensuring Boulder’s unparalleled way of life is maintained;

  • Ensure that there are adequate resources to provide safe, quality recreation opportunities for all;

  • Connect the city to those willing to provide time, treasure and talent to address needs above what our municipality can achieve alone;

  • Embody a model public-private relationship that creates and maintains outstanding recreational programs and public spaces.
